Strengthening local communities begins with stakeholders understanding the scope and intensity of the problems they are facing. By providing them with real-world cases in their community and local experiences, it is possible to mitigate and reduce misconceptions surrounding waterborne disease, climate change impacts and community health all together.
On Friday (19/06/2026), our dedicated team of experts in Cameroon conducted a groundbreaking workshop with the community stakeholders of Bolifamba Mile 16 in Buea. These stakeholders included various quarter heads as well as community sanitation personnel. Our primary objective was to debunk myths surrounding the topics, provide a blueprint for core knowledge, and outline the pathway to community resilience through corporate responsibility and technical know-how.
The workshop is the first of its kind within the community to tackle the topics that really matter to the local population. Our goal for the second workshop will focus on practicalizing and solidifying the knowledge they have acquired so as to enable them to become the first line of support for their various quarters in the community. Subsequent workshops will also consider strengthening the community women’s groups to create a unified community resilient framework. This workshop falls under our present project in Cameroon and supported by the Cassandra Initiative.
