EKCOLAB had the privilege to present at the Cassandra Conference 2026. The session included high-level speakers, together with representatives of existing local climate forums. Speakers included Marwa Daoudy, Ph.D., Associate Professor (Director of Academic Programs, University of Georgetown (USA)); Ekolle Eya (Director, EKCOLAB); Ariana Rossen, Investigadora senior (Instituto Nacional del Agua); and Dr. Nandhivarma (Secretary-General, APSCC).
The founder, Ekolle Eya, represented the organization as one of the key panel members speaking on climate change and water security initiatives and solutions that have been adopted by the organization, as well as offering his perspective on the African challenges, drawing from experience working with local communities and youths in Zambia, Uganda, and Ghana.

This conference session is also set to discuss how to improve the reach and effect of CASSANDRA. The founder provided a view on the ineffective executions of projects due to a lack of qualified local organizations stationed (subcontracted) to carry out local community projects. He further highlighted that building trust and community resilience starts from engaging local community actors and citizens to master not only theoretical concepts but also to translate the information in a way that nonscientists can be able to understand concepts of climate change and water resource protection and be able to build solutions for their own sustainability and resilience.
The Cassandra conference 2026 ended with good spirit and meaningful impacts to connect to more communities through a bottom-up approach.
